Their dedication has made it possible for the academy to continue providing this valuable service in the community.

Literacy & Tutoring

The Academy of International Dance believes that literacy helps children reach a higher level of academics. With the collaboration of the Santa Ana Main Public Library and Martinez Book Store students are placed in a literacy program that enhances their reading and comprehension skills, as well as, receiving a better understanding of dance. In addition, the library and the book store offers the children English, math and science tutoring and computer lab access. To complement the literacy component the students are also taught new terms and phrases in foreign languages correlating to their dance course. This further enhances their knowledge and understanding of the art form.

Dance Examination & Certification

This unique program trains students in becoming advance level dancers, but most importantly it provides a dance curriculum that places them through examination and certification by a highly recognized institute. Once the student passes their exam the Cecchetti U.S.A. confers the student with a certificate attesting to the level achieved. Children are taught discipline and how to be focused which in turn gives them confidence academically and socially.

World Fusion Youth Ensemble

This program consists of 50 of the academy's most disciplined children ranging from age 7 to 17 years old. These students present an educative one-hour dance performance featuring folklore dances from Africa, Middle East, Europe, India, China, Polynesian Islands, Latina America and the United States. The mission of the children is to bring the world to thousands of disadvantaged children that do not have the means to travel outside of their community. Through the ensemble's efforts, the children and youth of Orange County are given the gift of learning about other cultures and the world through dance.
